1. Saute until soft, but not brown: 4 tbs butter, 2 minced onions, 4 minced garlic cloves, 2 minced celery stalks, 1 minced green pepper 2. Add and bring to a boil: 32 oz stewed tomatoes, 12 oz tomato paste, 1/2 cup dark molasses, juice of 1 lemon, 1 tbs tobasco sauce, 1 tbs dry mustard, 1 tbs salt, 2 bay leaves crumbled, 1/2 cup cider vinegar 3. Reduce heat, cover, and cook for 1 hour stirring occasionally; Blend in the blender on high until smooth. Refrigerate until needed. | |
