Zesty Tomato Sauce
4 28-ounce cans of crushed tomatos (no salt added)
1 12 ounce can of tomato paste (no salt added)
5 cloves minced garlic
2 large chopped onions
3 finely chopped carrots
dried parsley
dried oregano
dried basil
dried thyme
3 bay leaves
Place all the ingredients in a large pot , bring to a boil, simmer 3 hours. The carrots are there to add a natural sweetness. Sorry that I don't have measurements on the spices, I just play it by ear - but it's usally palm sized portions of each.
